Dawn M. Finnell, LPCC, LCAC

Dawn earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a double Master's in Clinical Mental Health and Addiction Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY. Dawn has gained experience working in community mental health and independent practice providing care in a multitude of complex therapeutic areas that include intensive outpatient, groups, in-home therapy, grief, trauma and abuse care, substance use and addiction, marriage, couples, and family issues, building life skills, transitions in life stages- young adult, parenting, and elderly, anxiety, depression, and other challenging areas.

Dawn’s area of focus includes working with adults, couples, and families. Dawn is certified in EMDR to guide treatment and healing for PTSD and trauma, emotion regulation, and persistent mood disorders. Dawn also specializes in the treatment and recovery of chemical dependency.

Dawn believes in helping individuals explore self-efficacy through empowering internal growth by building coping skills in a non-judgmental and safe environment. She seeks to support clients with an empathic viewpoint and person-centered focus to build on individual character strengths.

Dawn works through an eclectic treatment model to encompass evidence-based treatment modalities including CBT, Solution Focused, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Behavior Modification, and patient-centered focus.
